The Role:

 

Williams are looking to recruit an experienced individual to help drive our correlation programme between CFD, Wind Tunnel and Track environments.  This role requires strong analytical skills in order to extract meaningful information from large datasets and present conclusions in a clear and concise manner.  You will contribute to improving the correlation methodologies and toolkits in order to advance car performance.  You will work directly with our aerodynamicists under the guidance of our lead correlation engineer within the CFD group.

 

Key Operational Duties:

  • Work directly with aerodynamicists to identify and classify correlation aspects across different areas of the car
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of CFD methodologies and toolkits to aid in improving correlation
  • Develop and reinforce rigorous and robust correlation programmes and methodologies
  • Ensure correlation aspects are understood and well communicated across the CFD team and aerodynamics department
  • As a senior engineer you will be expected to guide other engineers and take responsibility for key projects
  • You will report to the Lead Correlation Engineer within the CFD group

 

Ideal Credentials:

  • At least a 2:1 pass in an Aeronautical or related engineering field
  • Ideally a Masters’ degree, or above, specialising in CFD or aerodynamics
  • At least 4 years aerodynamic and CFD experience in a high-level aerodynamic or motorsport environment, preferably within Formula 1
  • Excellent analytical skills and be able to draw concise conclusions from large datasets
  • Excellent team player with ability to work effectively in focused teams and with other groups
  • Ability to work at a high pace and toward tight deadlines
  • Experience using StarCCM+, OpenFOAM, ANSA and NX are highly desirable
