  • Overview

A superb opportunity to join our Technology Ventures team which focusses on early stage technology investing through the Foresight Williams Technology EIS Fund. To date we have invested in eight businesses all of whom have exciting technology and share high growth potential, and we continue to source and invest in new companies. We are now looking to recruit a Portfolio Manager to join our expanding team.

Reporting to the Head of Technology Ventures, this role will focus on nurturing and building strong relationships with the fund’s growing portfolio of investee companies. The successful candidate will leverage these relationships to identify opportunities for Williams to add value and help these companies achieve their goals. They will work closely with the fund’s Investment Team and engage with potential investee companies prior to deal completion. They will develop a good understanding of each portfolio company: its technology and products, manufacturing strategy, market, customers, business model and team; and track and report how each company is progressing against its business plan. They will develop a comprehensive understanding of the breadth and depth of Williams Advanced Engineering’s capabilities, so that value add opportunities can be closely matched to a portfolio company’s needs. They will develop commercial proposals in the form of statements of work for each portfolio company based on a template Master Services Agreement (MSA). They will oversee, but are not responsible for, the delivery of MSA services to portfolio companies, always maintaining close relations with Williams Advanced Engineering’s project delivery team. From time to time they will also support the department’s Business Coordination function.

The Portfolio Manager will be passionate about working with entrepreneurial early stage technology businesses and be able to demonstrate a keen interest in technology, innovation and business. They should have a minimum 2:1 degree, preferably in a technical discipline, supported by relevant commercial experience.
