  • Overview

    We are currently seeking an experienced Machine Shop Cell Manager to join our manufacturing team. Reporting to the Production Manager, this will be a key position, with day to day to responsibilities for delivering cost-effective, high quality components in sufficient time to meet the demands of the customers both internal and external. This not only includes directly leading and managing a team of machinists, but also influencing the work schedule to achieve the best overall business results.

     

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Overall management of the Machine Cell, including but not limited to Personnel (including overtime, holiday and sickness management), Machine Tool (and associated equipment) maintenance/repair and Health and Safety.
    • To proactively liaise with the Drawing Office, Business Partners and Managers across the business to enable the best overall results to be achieved, to schedule, and as cost effectively as possible.
    • To utilise available tools and proactively seek new or improved tools to provide clear and effective reports to enable decision making in relation to metallic production’s work schedule.
    • To ensure that all relevant metrics data is collected, reported and is accurate.
    • To identify requirement for and to recruit a suitable level of sub-contract resource to meet the business demands.
    • Identify ways to improve Cell performance, instigate improvement projects and monitor progress by regularly updating performance measures

     

    The succesful candidate will have experience in a machine shop supervisory role and experience in Formula One is desired but not essential. Lead in the day to day running of the department continuous improvement process and evaluation of current practices are a key requirement in order to be successful in this post. Excellent written and verbal communications are expected in this role with experience of working with individuals on all levels.
