    We are currently seeking an Industrial Placement student to join the Aerodynamic Test Facilities department.  This small team is responsible for maintaining and developing the Wind Tunnels and all supporting systems at Williams F1.  The successful candidate will work with our existing software developers to plan, design, implement, test and maintain a variety of applications as well as reacting to evolving requirements


    The ideal candidate will have the following skills/knowledge:

    • Studying at a world class university in a subject such as software engineering or computer science.
    • Experience in a variety of programming languages.
    • Be able to demonstrate strong core skills in database interaction and object orientated programming.
    • Ability to write efficient, maintainable code.
    • Ability to produce intuitive user interfaces.
    • Ability to prioritise workload and balance project requirements.
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and on solo projects.
    • Eagerness to bring new ideas and concepts for solving real-world problems.

    Beneficial skills:

    • Experience with .NET environment and Visual Studio
    • Exposure to mathematical languages such as MATLAB
    • Experience with SQL Server

    Responsibilities will include:

    • Acting as a key player in the development of new and existing applications.
    • Optimising and implementing user experience improvements to existing applications.
    • Working closely with all groups within the aerodynamics department to ensure quality of final product.
    • Effectively communicating with peers across departments in a dynamic F1 environment.
