Williams Advanced Engineering are currently recruiting for a Vehicle Integration Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis.
Reporting to the chief engineer for Vehicle Integration, this is a key role where the successful individual will be working within the WAE Design group. You will take full responsibility for all vehicle integration activities, and will have particular expertise within a chassis discipline whilst also demonstrating an excellent understanding of the design, engineering and application of all vehicle systems. A knowledge of occupant packaging & full vehicle certification would also be beneficial.
Duties will be wide ranging and varied and will include working with discreet project teams to undertake a wide range of vehicle integration & design projects for a broad customer base, being responsible for understanding customer requirements, generating project scope, system specifications and for taking engineering designs from concept through to manufacture.
You will be responsible for completing vehicle integration activities from initial concept through to project completion. Being able to manage the project according to customers cost and timing requirements whilst developing solutions which are suitable for volume production.
The successful candidate with be responsible for assisting in generating and presenting project material and running design reviews, discussing alternative design solutions both internally & externally, you will attend certification tests as required. Working closely at all times with the purchasing and production departments to ensure cost and manufacturing capability.
The Successful candidate will have experience in mechanical design within the specialist automotive or motorsport industry or be able to show that you have extensive experience in an advanced engineering environment. You will have a good working knowledge of CAD system. A working knowledge of Siemens NX 7.5, TeamCentre or CATIA V5 would be advantageous.
