Williams Advanced Engineering are currently recruiting for an Electronics Technician to join Formula E powertrain design and development team on a 6-month contract basis.
Reporting to the Head of Powertrain – Formula E, this is a key role where the successful candidate will be responsible for all day to day tasks associated with electrical/electronic assembly manufacturing and testing.
Duties will be wide ranging and varied and will include hand assembly and re-work of PCB’s including components down to 0402 size. The electronics technician will be able to customise, modify or repair units according to the written specifications and use soldering rework equipment, general hand, power and pneumatic tools. You will Inspect and test assemblies/sub - assemblies and keep build records of all serial numbers associated with assemblies.
The successful candidate will maintain all work related equipment including:- PSUs, loads, test fixtures and tools, fabricate parts, cables and test fixtures as required and document work procedures and all related documentation for each task performed.
The successful applicant will have experience as a technician for an engineering focused company, be able to follow detailed assembly instructions for the process of building electrical, electronic and mechanical assemblies. You will have experience using electronic test equipment and be able to use hand and small power tools.
The electronics technician will be able to read and understand circuit drawings, technical drawings, datasheets, and written work instructions and have experience in electronic and mechanical assembly of power electronics devices like inverters, dcdc converters.
You will have a good ability to use your own initiative and respond quickly to problems and have a working knowledge of proprietary PC software e.g. MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
